Monday – Thursday:
Saturdays & Sundays:
- September 1, 2014 - February 15, 2035
12:01 am - 1:25 pm
In 4 sessions, you will complete a REVERSIBLE TOTE BAG. In the first 2 hour session of Sewing 101, we will show you the basics of using the sewing machine – the parts of the machine, sewing techniques, and threading the machine. In the second 2 hour session, learn about fabric, patterns, pinning and cutting. (more…)
MATERIALS REQUIRED: Students will need fabric for their Classic Reversible Tote. (See image below). Fabric can be purchased on the day of class, stop by beforehand to shop, or purchase fabric-by-the-yard in our online store.
Fashion Camp stocks over 100 fabrics, by independent, not widely distributed fabric sources. All fabrics are high quality, 100% cotton, fade-resistant and shrink-resistant. Fabrics sell for $11/yard.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do we have to take the class? -Your 4-Class Pass will expire 6 months from purchase date. Unfinished projects will only be stored through class expiration date.
What if my child is not 8 years old yet? -Students must be at least 8 years of age to participate., NO EXCEPTIONS.
What if I need to cancel my Sewing 101 class? -Refunds for Sewing 101 will be granted within 30 days of purchase date
What if I/my child has never done anything like this before? – That’s ok! We expect beginners! You will learn all about the sewing machine, then move on to complete a fabric & cutting lesson. During the last 2 sessions you will sew together your very own Reversible Tote Bag.
May I stay with my child during the class? – At Fashion Camp, we make sure students stay focused, with an instructor to guide them through all lessons. We feel when parents or guardians are present, children tend to be distracted and their attention is split. Their concentration and confidence level goes down. You are welcome to check in on your child, but we suggest students take classes independently. If you feel strongly about staying with your child, you are welcome to sign up for the class and participate in the lessons!
